EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
Worked collaboratively and effectively in a team towards specific goals, including maintaining Good Documentation Practices in a Quality Assurance Document Control department
● Ensured a keen attention to detail in classroom laboratories, food service orders, pet sitting schedules, and correcting and archiving official batch record documents
● Maintained clean working spaces throughout the length of a work day and before closing
● Effectively time managed in determining the importance of various tasks
● Relevant coursework has given essential information of and practice with a variety of chemical topics, including chemical reactions and their mechanisms, techniques in working with chemicals in a laboratory setting, as well as extensive knowledge about atoms, molecules, and compounds and their properties
● Proficient in laboratory skills from coursework including inorganic synthesis, filtration, distillation, solution preparation, hydrogenation, extraction, rotary evaporation, using condensers and a solvent system
● Developed analytical chemistry skills and data analysis through coursework and laboratory practice including gas chromatography mass spectroscopy, infrared transform spectroscopy, optical microscopy, and liquid chromatography mass spectroscopy
● Skilled in using laboratory equipment including specialized glassware and tools while clothed in proper personal protective equipment
● Adept at proper handling and disposal of waste products
● Proficient in data entry, record keeping and digital archiving using Excel and Word
RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
University of California, Davis Undergraduate Researcher Fall 2023 - June 2025
Advisor: Dr. Louise Berben
● Synthesized multiple earth-abundant main group element compounds, including aluminum compound synthesis to investigate their reactivity with small molecules to develop new, cost-effective catalysts
● Synthesized inorganic compounds under anhydrous and anaerobic environments using a Schlenk lines and dry-box techniques to ensure stability and purity of products
● Documented syntheses with detailed procedures and detailed spectroscopic signatures of compounds to ensure accuracy and reproducibility
● Characterized compounds through advanced analytical techniques including Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS), and Ultra-Violet Visible (UV-Vis) Spectroscopy
● Authored an honors thesis for course credit on the synthesis of the redox-active aluminum(III) complex, ( Me I2P 2- )AlCl
● Gained proficiency in advanced laboratory techniques such as rotary evaporators, glove boxes, and Schlenk lines to facilitate the manipulation of moisture-sensitive and reactive materials
