...(Automated Mass spectral Deconvolution and Identification System) is a free software for deconvolution and peak detection for GC-MS and LC-MS data developed by NIST for the verification of the Chemical Weapons Convention. Allthough the mathematical and statistical routines were known since decades (Biller-Biemann, Dromey, Stefik, Rindfleisch), it was not until 1996 when AMDIS was made freely available to the research community and a new era for the evaluation of GC-MS data was started. Read more about AMDIS and download from NIST.
