Required reading is Concepts in Biochemistry 3rd ed. by Rodney F. Boyer   (see chapter list in syllabus)
A course booklet is available at the UCD book store, including all slides of lecture presentations.

Other introductory books  cover the same material, but are somewhat more difficult to read:
Voet, Voet and Pratt, Biochemistry 3rd. ed.

Berg, Tymoczko and Stryer, Biochemistry, 6th ed.

Exams:

Your final grade will be based on your performance in three examinations: Midterm 1 (30%), Midterm 2 (30%), and the final test (40 %). The final exam will be cumulative.

Regrade requests for midterms must be submitted in writing within one week after return of the tests and will only be considered if you have used permanent ink during the exam.


IMPORTANT:
Exams will be given at the assigned times only! No early finals will be given! Exceptions may be granted to students with documented verification of personal loss or sickness and if the instructor was contacted before the exam.
