Lectures:

Tuesdays/Thursdays 09:00 – 10:20 p.m. (Chem 194)

Books:

Required reading is Concepts in Biochemistry 3rd ed. by Rodney F. Boyer
(see chapter list in syllabus)
A course booklet is available at the UCD book store, including all slides of lecture presentations.

Other introductory books  cover the same material, but are somewhat more difficult to read:
Voet, Voet and Pratt, Biochemistry 3rd. ed.
Garret & Grisham, Biochemistry 3rd. ed.
Berg, Tymoczko and Stryer, Biochemistry, 6th ed.

Instructor: Full Professor Oliver Fiehn

Exams:

Your final grade will be based on your performance in three examinations: Midterm 1 (30%), Midterm 2 (30%), and the final test (40 %). The final exam will be cumulative.

Students eligible for extended time for exams will take their exams at the Genome Center, room 1300, on the day of the exam from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Exams will be given at the assigned times only! No early or late finals will be given! Exceptions may be granted to students with documented verification of personal loss or sickness and if the instructor was contacted before the exam.
