Metabolomics Standards Workshop Event 2005-05-23 10:01:40 The unique informatics challenge to sharing metabolomics information is being addressed by multiple research groups. This workshop will bring together international groups of biologists, chemists, engineers and bioinformatics experts to discuss the development of informatics standards and shared resources in this emerging field.
Open house Event 2005-06-03 12:39:48 There will be a seminar given by Richard Michelmore, the Head of UC Davis Genome Center about the development of the Genome Center at 12.00 June 9 in the GBSF auditorium This will be followed by a tour/open house.
ASMS Event 2005-06-06 15:26:44 At the ASMS conference in San Antonio there are 4 talks given by members of the Fiehn Lab.
54rd ASMS Conference on Mass Spectrometry Event 2006-05-24 09:15:12 The American Society for Mass Spectrometry (ASMS) advances and applies the techniques of mass spectrometry. Dr Oliver Fiehn will chair the ASMS session on 'Metabolite Profiling' and will also present scientific contributions at two workshops: Monday May 29, 2006, 5:30-7 pm 'Metabolomics Databases for Large Scale Testing of Genetically Modified Foods' and Tuesday May 30, 2006, 5:30-7:00 p.m. 'Open Access Software for Metabolomics and the Metabolomics Standards Initiative' Dr. Nabil Saad will present 'Method Development for Prostprandial Changes in Monocyte Membrane Lipids Using Chip-Based Nanospray-FTICR MS' in poster ThP 358 on Thursday June 01, 2006
picnicday at UC Davis Event 2006-04-13 14:32:58 Picnic Day is the largest student-run event in the United States and is the annual Open House for the University of California, Davis. This hallmark event has been designed to showcase and celebrate the richness of campus life, the diverse achievements of UCD students, staff and faculty to provide a day of education, information and entertainment to all who attend. There will be more than 150 events throughout the campus and we expect 50,000-60,000 visitors to enjoy this special day.
56th ASMS Conference on Mass Spectrometry and Allied Topics Event 2008-04-29 19:47:18 Presentations by Fiehn laboratory members: Kirsten Skogerson, Poster (ASMS log # 284) Oliver Fiehn, oral (ASMS log # 201), Tobias Kind, oral(ASMS log # 431) and Poster (ASMS log # 1306 ), Dinesh Kumar, Poster (ASMS log # 284)

Mass spectrometry minisymposium Event 2006-04-24 00:35:48 Mass Spectrometry is the key method to analyze complex mixtures with respect to both identification and quantification of compounds, such as needed in metabolomics and proteomics. This minisymposium is meant to give a glimpse on current techniques and applications. It further serves as a search symposium for a postdoctoral research position in the Fiehn laboratory.
Metabolomics 2008 4th Annual Conference, Sept. 2-6, 2008 Event 2008-07-24 10:33:26 Metabolomics 2008 4th Annual Conference, Sept. 2-6, 2008
Biotechnology Forums: Machine Learning Methods on Metabolomics Event 2006-09-12 13:16:14
First Scientific Meeting of The Metabolomics Society Event 2005-05-23 10:35:54
2nd Annual Conference of the Metabolomics Society Event 2006-05-19 17:54:17 The Metabolomics Society holds annual conferences to advance methods and applications of comprehensive metabolic studies. In the 2006 convention, the Fiehn laboratory participates by scientific contributions and as advisory for the program committee.
Comparative Genomics of Disease Resistance Event 2005-09-19 14:06:14 From the Michelmore Lab, Katherine Caldwell and Leah McHale will be speaking about “Comparative Genomics of Disease Resistance in Plants.” The purpose of these talks is to inform each other of research occurring within the Genome Center and increase communication between our labs.
Storer Symposium on Networks Biology and Computation Event 2006-09-06 18:34:52 The Symposium will cover a wide range of topics in Networks Biology from issues of acquiring the data needed to characterize biological networks, to network modeling, to computational analysis and comparison of the networks, to biological insights derived from those analyses. The symposium will end with a round-table discussion on the challenges, prospects and future directions of the field. The symposium is supported by the Storer Endowment at UCD and is free and open to all.
